DIAMOND EYES RRNN – (Bonafide x X-Rated Junior) Bred by Team Johnson/ Jim Johnson
Finally, after years of concentrating on our female base we found a suitable outcross to make them famous! Diamonds’ completeness and skeletal quality offers lots of value, but as you analyze him in terms of his muscle quality and center rib dimension is where you are truly impressed. His undercarriage is rugged, wide and durable. He is right for us, and right for the advancement of the industry. This story is just beginning…
This one perfectly combines the way we like them built. He is the result of a disciplined and planned breeding program, and offers the best of what we have been able to accomplish to date. He is a flush brother to the Reserve Champion Hampshire at the 2009 Ohio State Fair (see SUCCESSES page), and is out of the most prolific female on our farm (see DONORS page). He offers shallowness and body width, has true foot size, is incredibly flat in his outer shoulder and gets progressively wider from chest to stifle. Ever since he was about 2 weeks old the excitement has been building - it has been a challenge maintaining our Poker Face.
MILE HIGH RRNN – (Squirt Gun x Shotgun) Bred by Wise Club Lambs
We feel that muscle and carcass quality are increasingly overlooked within our industry, then we saw this guy! This double bred Shotgun is powerful and shapely. His loin width and depth are impressive, but his top is rock solid and grooved up. With all of this talk of muscle, Mile High still balances perfectly from the side and maintains an attractive uphill look. Go ahead, get high!
PIRANHA QRNN – (DB 0320 – Junebug x DB 119
(Wasteney x Junebug))
Wow, has been the reaction of everyone who has seen this young stud! He is without a doubt the most uniquely modern dorset buck we have seen. His levelness, squareness, and hip shape are unparalleled within the breed. He has the Junebug shape, touch, and power with the extension and shallowness of his mom. We aren’t necessarily trying to re-write history here, but this guy has the potential. If you are planning to show a dorset or speckle in 2012, we suggest taking a look here – or you are at risk of being attacked by a Piranha.
DEE-B QRNN – (DB 9306 – 81 x Junebug) Owned with Lively Ranch
As part of our quest to continue moderating and stoutening the dorset breed, the time has come to utilize DeeB. He is as wide based, heavy muscled, and big footed as any all-white buck out there. The set of DeeB lambs at Lively’s the past two years has been impressive, with a couple of the best yet to see the showring. We expect great things from DeeB in 2012.
