OUR HISTORY

Dee Brothers, Inc. was started in 1954 as a 4-H project by our father, Eric, and our uncle, Allan, in State Center, Iowa.  The operation grew to a 400-sow farrow-to-finish Yorkshire/ Hampshire hog operation with a goal of producing high quality females and trendy males for hog producers worldwide.

In 1999, we (Graham and Evan) relocated our operation to Northfield, Minnesota.  In addition, we expanded our interests to include show lambs.

We currently run approximately 60 Hampshire, Dorset and Crossbred ewes and continue with our family's original focus.  We strive to maintain a consistent ewe base through progressive genetic decision-making.  We incorporate the right outcross sires when necessary, but maintain a solid, tightly bred ewe and ram battery.

Currently, our focus is building a strong ewe base -- sheep that have bone, structure and muscle dimension, all coupled with eye appeal. We have sought out the best of the best, combining genetics from Bob and Ben Marcantel, J. B. Massey, Vince McGolden, Mike Stitzlein and several other respected breeders nationwide.  We have recently added Dorset sheep from Randy Lively to our flock, with the intention of raising extremely competitive speckle-faced sheep.

Whether you are looking for your next State Fair wether, a stud ewe or a stud ram, our guarantee is your satisfaction.  Our focus is raising the best livestock possible.  We work with the youth of today and breeders alike.  Our involvement doesn't end at the point of sale.  We look forward to working with our customers to teach them all facets of livestock production including selection, care, feeding, grooming and showmanship.  Our philosophy is to sell high quality livestock, and then help our customers meet their full potential.  Raising livestock is our passion – please feel free to call and set up an appointment to visit anytime!
