Presenting Our 2012 Donor Ewes

RRNN - DB6001 - Direct Hit x 11 (Shell x Cabaniss)

This female has been a standout since she was born in 2006.  We lost her mother in early 2009 at 11 years old after being bred to Direct Hit for the 4th time in a row, a rarity here.  To date this ewe family is the strongest and most prevalent on our farm with over $30,000 in total sales.  56 is the mother of Poker Face, and we have 5 daughters out of her, and numerous granddaughters.  56 is one of those really special ewes to have around, and we eagerly anticipate lambing the 8 eggs she flushed bred to Diamond Eyes around January 17th, 2012, and have her bred back the same way a couple weeks later.

QRNN – Marcantel 43 x Full sister to Marcantel 23

We felt like we hit the lottery when we pulled into Marcantel’s in 2007 and there was a pair of yearling twin sisters that were bred like this!  Fast forward 5 years, and this is a powerful ewe family.  40 and her sister (42) mark one of our best maternal ewe families.  They are responsible for a combined 8 females in our flock, with an additional 3 granddaughters.  The 10 eggs coming out of Diamond Eyes will be exciting around January 17th, 2012.  She is bred back to Mile High to lamb a couple weeks later.

RRNN – DB 7046 – Direct Hit x DB 44 (Marcantel 43)

This girl is one of our all time favorites!  She, like the majority of our ewe base combines the Direct Hit x Marcantel genetics.  She was shown by the Otis family in 2007 and is a multi-jackpot winner, as well as a class winner at American Royal.  We have 2 daughters of her in the flock currently, and even as a young ewe she is over $5,000 in total sales.  She flushed 2 eggs due January 17th, 2012 to Diamond Eyes, and is bred the same way to lamb a couple weeks later.

RRNN – DB9209 – Big Easy x DB 56 (See Above)

If something ever happened and we had to sell out, this one would not leave.  We sold her once, and were fortunate enough to buy her back.  Flat out, one of the most impressive individuals we have ever seen.  She’s elegant and durable all wrapped up in one.  As a 2009 show ewe for Harley Kidd in Indiana, this one found the purple – but her true value is in the barn.  Her first lamb was successfully campaigned by the same young lady this past summer.  As far as we are concerned, she can have all the ewe lambs she wants – we’ll take them all.  She flushed 2 eggs to Diamond Eyes due mid January, 2012 and is bred back the same way a week or so later.

RRNN – Slack 185

Around our place ewes don’t have to be huge when they are built like this gal.  Her underline and chest floor placement are what truly brings her value.  In 2010, her Piranha ewe lamb was a multi-show division winner when shown by Bailee Amstutz in Ohio.  Her wether is getting geared up for N.A.I.L.E. and Denver, after an immature run at Indiana State Fair.  She flushed 2 eggs to Piranha, due around January 17th, 2012. “If it ain't broke, don’t fix it” – so she is bred the same way a week or two later.
